The nitwits in Florida are at it again ...

They'll never learn it seems. The idiots running around
like chickens with their heads cut off trying to buy water,
food, generators and plywood, all just before the hurricane
moves in. They did exactly the same thing the last time a
hurricane hit. I can understand trying to fill the car up with
gas in case you have to evacuate, but anybody with any sense
would already have emergency supplies laid in. If you live in
hurricane country you could figure a hurricane might come
your way at some time, why get caught up in the stampede ?
And what did you do with the plywood you bought last time ?
Doesn't water come out of taps in Florida ?

It is funny... It would not be a problem if they all had electric cars. If the power is out for a week how could they get gas? TFIC

Blaming those on the receiving end. Here's how it goes down in the real world. Not as pretty.

Have been though two floods and one hurricane. About to now deal with Dorian. Do what you want. Prepare as you will. You cannot anticipate every single little thing that might/can/will bite you in the neck. Lost a car in 1980 when water rose so fast that I had to swim away. Car sank. Woke up one morning to see water about four inches from coming in the house. House was built almost 4 foot off the ground. Go figure. In 1995 flooding overwhelmed much of south Georgia. No way to describe the damage. No one was expecting a 500 year flood.

People are not nitwits when they make a mistake. They simply make mistakes. Happens to everyone sooner or later. Like a pilot who fouled up and ended down to low when making a loop. Experienced, etc. but he made a mistake. He said, "We're going to bounce!" No. He crashed. All dead. Not a nitwit. Just a man who made a mistake. Praying now for the folks in Florida and along the coast here in Ga. Later we'll all need to do what we can to help. Sincerely. bruce.

The solution is to anticipate what you CAN anticipate, and prepare for it. Things like flashlights, candles, chain saws, generators and a stock of canned goods, are all good to have. Each time you have a disaster, make a list of what you wished you had, and acquire it.

I'm with you on this post of yours Bruce .

I'm ready here in Florida but you can only stock pile so much water .... gas for the generator doesn't store reliably forever , and most of my county is on wells meaning it takes electricity to pump ... as do the pumps at gas stations ... and last years plywood could be warped or rotted by this time

Natural catasrophes cant always be made ready for..... like the "nitwits" in California who get burned out of their homes... or earth quaked .... why weren't they "prepared" DogTag.... ??

Doesn't even take a mistake really Bruce . But those like Dogtag wouldn't know so their critique comes easy to their tongue
