Good idea: put them on trial before they die of old age ...

Or before no one's left who remembers what they're being tried for.
Saw an article somewhere about how much food is wasted.
Well, here's a good example of food being wasted.

How long did it take us to execute Skorzeny's thugs, the ones who dressed in American uniforms and infiltrated American lines during the Battle of the Bulge?

Somebody sure did -- and not long after we caught them, either.

Charles Manson died in jail. Timothy McVeigh/Terry Nichols, Scott Peterson and thousands of others on death row will live out a long life behind bars and possibly be released one day. Why? No wonder the prisons are overcrowded. Time to put 'ol Sparky back in service.

Timothy McVeigh has been executed. To be fair, it's because he refused to continue with the appeals process.

Interestingly enough, polls showed that the overwhelming majority of anti-death penalty people believed Timothy McVeigh should die.

My bad, I lose track of them when there isn't a timely end to things.

Here's an example. I had no idea this character was still on the taxpayers tit.

I never could figure out how Hinckley got the verdict he did. If you shoot the president you stay in prison forever.

the verdict resulted in widespread dismay. As a consequence, the United States Congress and a number of states revised laws governing when the insanity defense may be used by the defendant in a criminal prosecution. Idaho, Montana, and Utah abolished the defense altogether.[19] In the United States, prior to the Hinckley case, the insanity defense had been used in less than 2% of all felony cases and was unsuccessful in almost 75% of those trials.[16] Public outcry over the verdict led to the Insanity Defense Reform Act of 1984, which altered the rules for consideration of mental illness of defendants in federal criminal court proceedings in the United States.[2

He is completely free these days.

I suspect Hinckley was a relative or friend of the family to some judge.

Well here's a step in the right direction but it shouldn't be just for mass murderers.

The White House said Monday it has drafted legislation with the Justice Department that would expedite the death penalty for people found guilty of committing mass shootings, following Saturday's attack in West Texas that left seven dead, according to a pool report.
