    The Pilgrims' Mayflower sails again ...

    the 1957 British built replica of the 1620 ship has been fully restored and
    will be sailing to Plymouth for the 400th anniversary of the original voyage.

      I was there several times watching it being built amazing to watch the craftsman work they had a large milling operation just for this ship you could walk around the whole ship and watch them work.amazing how they cut and shaped the wood

        The critical part is proper ballasting -- That and wind pressure holds her more steadily than you might expect.

        When the Godspeed sailed from Portsmouth the "experts" on board had stowed over 400 cases of soft drinks in the bow -- and were amazed at how hard she was to steer!
