    Background checks

I want to see juvey records put in and psycho records as well. A 15 YO punk is still a punk @ 18 why hide the records? If a guy hears voices it is bad enough that can buy beer much less a gun. 2nd is a right, @ a gunshow will I have to pay any dealer $25 to do a background check? Down South years ago was a poll tax that was illegal, paying a dealer is just another tax Right?

not a tax , tho it may be called a fee, (I know, that may be a tax) if charged by the state, or feds,

if a dealer charges $25, that is the price you pay for our services (FFL\SOT I be)

so not a tax, just a charge like you would pay a plumber etc ,

and I agree something needs to be done to tie in NICS records or checks to the mental health system,

surely there is a way it can be done and not violate hippa

Whole purpose of HIPPA is to protect pharmaceutical companies from liability. If all records of RX were available at the trial/inquests of these jerks people would realize where the problem is. Neighbor used teach in middle school; nurse would come in with a tray covered with paper cups and dose the little future felons every day.

People with multiple personality disorder probably shouldn't have guns either. Might be a homicidal maniac lurking unseen in the mix.

Regarding the difference between a tax and a fee. A fee is generally money paid to a government to obtain a service that is of benefit to the individual and which approximates the cost of providing that service. For example, if you want a drivers licence and need to take a road test as a prerequisite, then the test is of personal benefit to you. As long as the cost of taking the test is about the same as the amount you are charged for it, then the charge is a fee. If on the other hand the cost to the government is say $50 and you are charged $200, then most of that charge is a tax.
