    Daily news.

After reading what is going on in the British Isles, our American problems don't seem too bad. As an American I still can't understand that leaving Europe thing that is puzzling them so. I guess when you let someone in your wallet it is hard to get them out.

Hum ... letting someone in your wallet. Guess that's the way it goes when economies are linked by the realities of commerce. Ireland is not a island unto itself any more than is England. They are all a part of the main. (Apologies to John Donne). The recent tit for tat tariff brogue ha ha has also demonstrated that no continent is a continent unto itself. Sincerely. bruce.

And the demographics has changed -- those who consider themselves Irish now outnumber those who consider themselves English.

One item on my bucket list is going to my great-grandfather's grave and reporting to him that after more than 800 years, Ireland is free.

History ... more recent history . As a kid I lived in England... not the UK ... England .

At that time there were more Irish born living in England than in Ireland itself .

Seems for a large part of Irish History the Irish would do anything they could for Ireland .... except actually desire to live in it .

The Irish invented the Bagpipes for which they'll never be forgiven.

I play the pipes. A fellow says to me, "I didn't know the Irish played the pipes."

And I says, "The Irish invented the pipes."

"I thought the Scots invented the pipes."

No big deal -- put a customs and immigration post on every border crossing, and allow Californians in only if they have a passport and a visa.

If I was a cop I'd put in my will; no bagpipes. Rory Gallagher.

                          Ah,up. Fake bagpipe news.
This band did it better. Boston out of Boston. A town known for their Irish. I don't know how many of the members were of the old sod.

                          No more music, I promise.
So, California leaves the union. That would be west somewhere. Way west.

I notice she plays both the Irish Warpipes (two drones) and the Piob Mor (three drones.)

"You should have seen the carnage
In the drooling light of dawn
Yet amidst the scene of slaughter
                              The piper playing on

Though all lay low about him
Still he held his head on high
And played as though he stood upon
                              The Caller Craigs of Skye

His face was grim as granite
And no favor did he ask
Though weary were his might lungs
                              And empty was his flash."
