Ebay charges taxes now. They tax separately on other peoples sales. In other words if you buy an item on ebay from Joe Blow for $10 he gets his $10 but on your paypal account you are chared a separate fee for taxes that Joe Blow doesn't get. Other sites don't do this so it must not be a requirement yet.

with ebay you can now drop paypal and use the Ebay managed pay system,

basically the same, but instead of going thru paypal (iirc a separate company from ebay now) ebay handles the funds, and deposits them directly into your account (less fees etc)
no cheaper than paypal, overall ~15%, but no more paypal for me is a blessing

buggers locked up 3 or 4 accounts I had over the years,
