A new Civil War would at least end the frustration ...

the frustration of watching the liberals' never-ending
attacks on the duly elected President, the Constitution
and our freedoms. Should they be successful in not only
dethroning Trump but also in cheating their way into the
White House, and should they also with their underhand methods
at which they excel, manage to gain the other two branches, then
all bets will be off and off to Hell we go. Americans like the British
have a high threshold or tolerance of political lunacy, but when that
lunacy begins to threaten personal freedoms - better watch out.
That's my take; Below is someone else's:

Most of us don’t want a second Civil War, though many of us will fight, and a very few even think war is a good idea. But the obvious question is what would it look like?

Some politicians often seek the advice of outsiders.

    Is Dogtag Ukrainian?

Have you seen the Matthew Brady photographs of Civil War battlefields? Bloated corpses are not a pretty sight, and we should do our best to avoid that.

I've heard murmurings of new civil war talk. So far it's all on the right. To paraphrase Churchill, in reference to some anarchists, people who take up arms against the state can expect to be fired upon.

I cannot see a CW or modern version of one, coming about,

despite our differences (nationwide, statewide, etc) we are all too comfortable to let that happen,

I can see some protest going too far, shots fired etc, that make the dust up in Charlottesville look like an afternoon picnic , if the current protest groups (looking at you antifa) get carried away and start pushing some hot head right leaning group too hard,

that will likely be a wake up call, but not sure what side of the bed we (as a nation) would wake up on,,,

Our Civil War is about ideals and being fought at the ballot box. A armed conflict like our two other civil wars is out of the question.

I assume then, you'd quietly give up your guns when they come to collect them.

So I read the link in the OP.

During the 2016 election, I started a thread "how Trump could be bad for 2A". The theory was that if power is denied him, the armed hotheads could provoke a general response that curbs all gun rights. Boy, did I get shot at for that theory! Trump supporters are decent, law-abiding folk! And yet here we are 3 years later, and it's the armed right talking about this exact same scenario! Who, I wonder, fires the first shot? And for what reason? If provoked, the state will respond. Wealth will demand it. The public will support it. And in the reaction, gun laws will become severe.

Togor, you'll be proven right when they cheer him for it. Let's hope that never happens, but I have dim expectations how much of the nose some are will to cut to save face.
