    Killing 40 innocents in order to kill one guilty ...

    doesn't strike me as a particularly good bargain. Everyone
    concerned says how sad they are that such a mistake was made.
    But was it a mistake ? - I somehow doubt that. I suspect in the
    rush to kill an important enemy not too much thought is given
    to what may be nearby. Acceptable collateral damage.

    I don't hold any brief for killing civilians, and this should be thoroughly investigated.

        These people were celebrating a wedding, not hobnobbing with the enemy/

            During the WW2 D-Day landings, the bombardment of coastal France killed up to 3000 civilians. At the time, the French people were glad the Allies finally came ashore.
