    Render To God And Trump

    https://www.politico.com/news/2019/1...mp-book-040920

See this kind of thinking gives American Christianity a bad name, because it can easily be seen as just another political interest group chasing a wordly agenda while at the same time disregarding cornerstone tenets of our Federal system, such as separation of powers between co-equal branches of government.

Plus I hear that Trump is pissed because Ralph Reed got the order wrong. The Kaiser had the same problem with his supporters.

    well,

the article does make a good point

Part of the reason why many religious leaders support Trump is because he is great on life, religious freedom, judges, Israel, taxes, conscience protections, fetal issue and also because Hillary Clinton and his would-be opponents next year are so awful on all of the above,” a senior administration official said.

Yes but those are also wordly matters of temporal concern, and there are an equal or greater number of topics of Christian conscience that don't make the laundry list. As stated previously, Christianity as just another lifestyle choice.

Consider: if the devil were to tempt a pious man, how might he go about it? Exchanging things of apparent righteous value in exchange for unquestioning loyalty seems like a good way to start, does it not? And this is exactly the path that Ralph Reed encourages the faithful to take: obedience to a patently immoral leader in this world in exchange for policy wins! The tell in this is that the things with which Trump parts have no personal value to him. That he can trade them to the religious right at such a good price....does that make him think more or less of such people?

Unlikely. And yes I know an argument of this type is lost on a good many here.
