What are the implications of Mexico becoming Iraq on our border?

Mexico is not an enemy state, and the Mexicans are not an enemy people. Yet as Mexico falls apart, we need to ask ourselves questions normally reserved for objectively hostile nations. There is a war underway. It won’t stop at the border.

betting that war will stop at the border, and then bet some of the folks in the US that belong to either side start slugging it out here, and that will be dealt with


I would imagine that there will not be a punitive expedition, and also bet any US involvement will not be thought of highly here or there

That's enlightening. I saw the little blurb on the news about Chapos kid and them immediately wondered, well, how did it turn out? No follow up that I saw. They have plenty of guns and who know what else.
I just hope we keep letting the nice Mexicans into our country.
