Closed thread now, but interesting back-and-forth. Those guys can disagree without losing their heads over it. In case anyone is wondering, yes I am a member there but not under the same name that I use elsewhere. That is more of a collector's forum, whereas jouster was more about shooting (with lots of overlap between the two activites).

Gunboards is a well moderated forum, with good folks on it,
even after the Canadians took it over,
been a member for years, and know a few that visit here once in a while,
I've dealt with Ratman, he has his opinion, but overall is good to deal with -
you realize that you are part of the problem that caused the issues here, right?https://forums.gunboards.com/showthr...s-and-gun-laws

you also realize that if you (and others, on both sides) posted the way you have here in the past, you would be banned (permaban) on GB, right?
so, did you post in that thread?Comment

There's a fun thread right there.Last edited by Roadkingtrax; 10-29-2019, 08:07."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

No I did not post in the thread.
But before I accept or deny being "part of the problem" here, I need you to precisely define what problem it is to which you refer. Certainly during the "gloves are off" days I threw down mine when Red threw down his. But lots of guys here would have been banned at other sites for their posts here.Last edited by togor; 10-30-2019, 02:41.Comment

It was an interesting thread in it's own right. The people participating in the discussion managed to keep their posts within limits, which is to say they tolerated the existence of contrary views. If this forum is trying to find its future under the guidance of active moderation, then that gunboards thread could serve as an example of how it is done elsewhere on the gun web.Comment

you were one of those parties, whether you want to admit that or not,
and yes, you were not alone,
question is, are you going to do what you can to help this forum overcome the past history ?
(btw, BudT's post recently is a good indication of what happened)Comment

I just counted, Ratman posted replies 47 times on that one thread, Busy day I guess, Lol,https://forums.gunboards.com/showthr...s-and-gun-laws

The rules are...issues, not personal attacks. If a guy doesn't want his thread to drift, try to respect that. Anything else?if this forum finds its future, it will be because it overcame the damage done by certain parties in the past,

If there's something on your mind, you could send me a PM. So far none received.
I don't know specifically what got under BudT's skin. Looking at his post history, no one was messing with him. So it isn't how he was treated. Content objection? You could ask him. But at what point does just holding a contrary political opinion violate forum rules? Some very much want you to go there.Comment

Continue to follow the rules. I don't lose my head. Red calls me a traitor, scum, liar, etc. I call him "Red". If more is asked, please advise.

Does the new management ban use of the term "stooges" in reference to certain forum members? That's a pretty shiny toy to some.Comment
