    "OK, Boomer"

That comeback from the younger folks in response to people of a certain age going on and on about something is enjoying a moment these days.

My son asked me if I heard it (he likes it) and I said I did.

Like MAGA, people can and do read pretty much whatever they want into OB. Technically I am tail end but have always identified more with the previous and subsequent generations. So to me, OB is about a generation that was spoiled beyond belief their entire lives, and which is at war with itself ever since Vietnam. Basically, boomers expect their drama must be it for the whole country, whether everyone else wants it that way or not (in my view).

Bill, Hillary, Trump and Limbaugh are all quintessential boomers in my book, and all could improve things for the rest of us if they faded to quiet retirement.

From a generation that can't find their butt with both hands stereotyping the previous generation that provided them the means by which they don't have to accomplish anything.

The proper response to her taunt would be, "Back at ya, Potty Pants. And tell your momma to quit using those cheap diapers on you. They leak."

Thinking about college now versus college then. In my day, college was pretty much chalkboards and textbooks, and for us engineers, calculators. And the "computer center", a room full of terminals on the DEC mainframe. Incredibly primitive by today's standards for college, and cheaper, but also with a lot of taxpayer support to make tuition affordable.

I don't agree with free college, because I think things have more value if someone has to sacrifice for them. But the current youngsters are not wrong when they point out that boomers had a lot of taxpayer support when they were young, yet show little interest as a generation in paying it forward. That is IMO a legit generational gripe.

the only taxpayer support I had for college was the college it self,

I paid tuition, books, etc etc, the state owned the school,

not sure how much of that has changed, as far as funded, other than the school I attended has expanded almost 10x's it's size,.

I applied for a few grants, and was denied, so I paid my own way,

Right but tuition only covered a fraction of the cost of educating you. The taxpayers picked up the rest. And in much of the country, that fraction is less now.

Grover Norquist is a baby boomer.

This is a common phenomenon -- young people often think older people know nothing, and need to be instructed by the young. Most of them grow out of that.

Sometimes history repeats. Boomers disliked the idea that people with 10-20 years left called the shots when they, the Boomers, had 50-60 still to go. Now the shoe is on the other foot with a younger generation.
