Most charities are run by people who award themselves with
fat salaries way out of wack with what the same job in a
normal everyday business would warrant. I'd hazard a guess
that of every $100 donated, probably a pittance would go to
the people or cause intended, the balance going toward salaries,
travel and other expenses and of course, the expense accounts.
There are no doubt honestly run charities, but the only one I'm
aware of is the Salvation Army - the only one I give to by either
donating salable items or buying someone else's discard.
