You can't charge a person, not bother going to trial, but declare him guilty.No, not true. The President is impeached as soon as the votes are counted and certified -- which they have been. Now the Senate is in charge.
Article 1, Section 3:
Clause 6: The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.
The Senate can act as they please. The President has been impeached, and whether the charges have been forwarded or not, he IS impeached and they can act.

The Congress presents/submits articles of impeachment. THEN the Senate tries the accused on these charges. Prior to that, it's just arm waving

Exactly. When he goes off like this, he reminds me of an American tourist abroad who thinks he can get his point across by shouting. The subject is Ukraine and Trump's refusal to permit the inner circle to give a truthful account under oath. Curious if Red calls that a lie too.Comment
