I don't know if you remember Claude Pepper -- a Democrat Congressman from way back when. He came to the nursing home where my wife was Assistant Director and was making a speech to the residents about how the Republicans are "attacking Social Security" and promised to get them more benefits.

The residents were all on Medicaid, and could only have a few dollars in their bank accounts -- they had to GIVE AWAY most of their Social Security to stay on Medicaid.
