Remember my thoughts on causes of plane crashes ? ...

Bad Pilot skills or Pilot error.
    Lack of proper maintenance.
    Taking off in bad weather.
    Failure to check weather forecast.

Kobe Bryant took off in Foggy weather resulting in the deaths
of five people. Tragic, especially as his 13 year old daughter
would still be alive along with the others, plus his family would
be spared the grief if only a little common sense had been applied.
So what was so bloody urgent that made him take the risk ?
Oh, that's right, his daughters basketball practice.

too early to know what the problem was (mechanical, pilot error, weather etc) but the investigators will find out eventually, and let us know

shame all around, for the families involved

Yes, let's wait for the investigators to look at it. Here in NJ in 2011 a Wall Streeter, his wife and children and a friend from work were killed in a crash. Flying to Virginia for Christmas, the plane iced up....Buddy Holly died a small plane crash, inexperienced pilot. late at night, wintry conditions.....

JFK Jr., Amelia Earhart, the Red Baron.

Circumstances may have been a little different for them though.

I would put von Richthofen (the Red Baron) in a different category -- it is difficult to charge a pilot in combat with pilot error when his business is to take risks.
