Fine, but the point is that the guy who started the "Mexico is gonna pay" meme is telling us all that he thinks there's still life in it, which has him disagreeing with Gun Smoke who says no one believes it (if they ever did). The source of the Trump quote is immaterial if it is accurate. If context matters, the context is "word sounds coming out of Trump's mouth at a rally".

And they have. Big time! They are now deporting thousands of Hondurans and others that are trying to travel through Mexico to The U.S. They have agreed to the new trade agreement which puts billions into the American economy. So, togor laughs and ridicules Trump.Comment

Unfortunately the economy is booming under Trump. togor and his communist JJ's friends wish the economy would be stagnant... just like Obama declared was the new normal...
But, America is no longer dependent on foreign oil and togor and the JJ's hate that.
America is stronger and greater in every way because of Trump. Togor and his traitor friends are still hoping the U.S. goes into a depression bigger than the one in the 1930's so they can elect another great leader like Joe Stalin.Comment

Didn't know Janet and Jermaine Jackson are forum members. Both laid down some decent tracks in their day and weren't quite as weird as their famous brother.
There is two ways to sustain a reduced dependency on foreign petroleum. One is to produce more. The other is to improve efficiency so it lasts longer. Trump is in favor of doing the first (except, curiously, offshore within LOS of his golf clubs), but opposed to the second. So his net energy score is a big fat zero. And no, trying to mandate increased use of coal to displace petroleum in energy production doesn't count. That's a whole different set of problems there.
If Red had friends, then I'd say that what he and his friends refuse to acknowledge is that much of the Trump agenda is unsustainable. One can only increase environmental damage so much. One can only rack up so much of a budget deficit. One can only do so much with tariffs. The bill always comes. If Trump has displayed any kind of genius in business, I suppose it would be to be somewhere else when that bill comes, leaving someone else stuck with it. In the case: the country. Now if a guy is only planning on being here on earth a few more years, then I guess the play is to keep the party rolling, don't stop no matter what. But I can't go there.Comment

You are right, Mexico is doing what they should have done as a matter of their nation's policy. By kicking the "illegals" back south SAVES THE DHS money on putting up with them. Mexico is PAYING for what we would have had to do, that is worth something!Jive talking?
No one, even the democrats expected Mexico to deliver a check paying for the wall. You are correct, it was all a part of the new trade deal. One way or another they are going to pay. Hinged upon that too is Mexico finally taking a stand against invaders entering their country to reach ours. The 2300 from Honduras was just the latest. Their police and military have been stopping the invasion as well vs aiding them as in the past.

Indeed it is. And under international law, the FIRST nation refugees reach is responsible for them -- Mexico has no right to pass these people through to the United States.Comment

Like Togor I'll agree with your statement there Sam .... but we need be aware....
The "New Nafta" isn't really much different than the old.... except we're now going to force our " American Factory Owners " in Mexico to pay $15.00 an hour.
That is the incentive for Mexico to toss the Gauts back from where they came, we however believe that that labor wage increase south of the border will force our manufacturers back home ....
... wrong.... with most companies unable to fill positions in this country now its just a better deal for them to just pay the Mexicans higher wages down there ......
and tack on the additional expense to the price of your new washing machine or car... Mexico did well out of this new deal .... and we're still paying for that wall with a tunnel under itLast edited by Sandpebble; 01-31-2020, 11:51.Comment

You are paying for a tunnel under the wall...Why?
I don't own any car just trucks made in America, same as my laundry appliances. My winter clothes dryer is non-electric and made by the Amish in Ohio for your information. It works great and we need the moisture in the air. I can't think of a thing that we purchase that comes from Mexico, I do like their music thou.

I try and humor them, they are feeling bad enough that the Senator from Alaska won't go along with witness's now. President Trump will continue to rebuild our Republic, the economy will continue to get better. What positive things can they run on, only negative ones and higher taxes.
