There's a remarkable sadness with that family, then again...isnt that a previous wife?

    Success is a subjective term.

Reminds me of that scene in Tombstone, when Wyatt and Doc are talking about Johnny Ringo.

Just wondering how many businesses the whiners here have ever run, and how many employees they have. Sounds like a lot of jealousy to me. He's a successful businessman and that's why the politicians don't like him. Makes them look bad. And yes, I have my own business with employees. It's tough having to deal with the leaches in gov. giving to the leaches in society.

So only businesspeople are allowed to criticize Trump? I have doubts, but even so, many do. Want a list? Will it change your mind about him? Probably not. In which case, the argument seems pointless.

How do you know that he is a successful business man when he won’t release his taxes? What is available is a list of six bankruptcies. My two favorites are Trump University and Trump Airlines. The latter was highly successful as the Eastern Shuttle as a bare bones airline without gold plated lavatory fixtures.

Few successful people disclose their tax returns. Why would they? Why should they? It's not a requirement for the president. It's just all the democrats can come up with to browbeat Trump.

Bankruptcies have become a tool of the trade. I don't like it. I think when people file bankruptcy who can pay they should never be able to get another loan again but I don't write the laws and neither did Trump. He takes advantage of the existing laws and smart businessmen use these laws to boost their financial worth.

If Trump has gold plated lavatory fixtures then great, he earned them. I've known a few people that had them too. Elvis even had them on his plane. They were all successful.

But none of this holds a candle to Trump being the most successful president--ever.

I note that not one of the liberals on this forum have disclosed THEIR tax returns.

                      Civics 100:

The President, even moreso than other government officials, can call a lot of regulatory shots. Consequently the idea is to know if there are conflicts between private and public interest. That's why coming clean to the voters with tax returns is seen as a gesture of good faith. Trump is unwilling to make that gesture.

You wanted an answer, there it is. It's one of the great shortcomings of Trump supporters that they eagerly allow the man to redefine the national interest in his own personal terms.

The voters don't seem to give a rats a$$ about nonessential BS.

Don't forget Trumps supporters. He carried the whole nation with the exception of the "sanctuary cities".

I wish people wouldn't quote our resident liberals -- I have them on ignore for a reason.

What sane person could write these words: "they eagerly allow the man to redefine the national interest in his own personal terms."

Is securing our borders NOT in the national interest? Is lowering the unemployment rate NOT in the national interest? is increasing labor force participation NOT in the national interest? Is fighting terrorism NOT in the national interest? Is increasing real wages NOT in the national interest?

The "I hate Trump" crowd is following Bill Maher -- we need a recession to get rid of Trump!

That's goofy talk. Bill is a comedian after all. But I knew a guy who played the stock market. Several times he mentioned "we need another 911" to get peoples attention about home grown terrorism. He also thought it would be a great buying opportunity when the market tanked. Stupid talk. By the way when the big crash did come he was so monkey fisted that he had no exit strategy and lost the whole thing.
Link below as to why you don't want a recession although I am pretty much "recession immune". There will be a recession, eventually.

A downturn would crater Trump’s odds at reelection. It would also create much of the inequity, misery, and chaos that Democrats seek to avoid by winning in 2020.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Let’s put that cutesy map in context. 472 counties voting Clinton in 2016 and 2584 counties voting Trump in 2016 which seems to agree with your map. However, values for Gross Domestic Product (Moody’s Analysis) is essentially flipped with those 472 counties contributing 64% of the total product value while the 2584 counties contributed only 36%. Then there is the matter of popular vote plurality of 3 million in favor of Clinton, which I agree, is not relevant, nor are your numbers of red counties.

Sensible people do not want or wish a recession.

Bill Maher is a comedian wannabe. He is also a tool of the left and HBO which is 100% liberal.
