Here is another one California and New York (famed sanctuary states) are responsible for 24% of the total GDP of the USA. Very tired of seeing all of the BS about the purported nonproductivity of blue states

        1. Acres don't vote. People do.

        2. Those blue dots pay the lion's share of taxes in this country. Have a favorite government service that you enjoy? Go to a blue dot and hug a stranger.

        3. The principle of avoiding conflicts of interest in public service is not a hard one to grasp, and no one here really has objections to candidates making tax returns available. So this gets at one of my major peeves about Trumpism, that otherwise decent people have to forget their principles as a necessary condition of supporting him. One can easily imagine Gun Smoke in 4 or 8 years rediscovering the value of tax returns being made public.

You have them on ignore because you really really really don't like coming out on the short end.

To the blurring of personal and national interests in Trump's mind--one need look no further than Dershowitz's recent impeachment defense.

Doesn't look like the nation is coming out on the short end with Trump. The best economy and employment in 50 years and the best in the world...The US is the envy of the world...high stock market prices, taking out of the counties main terrorist's, rebuilding a military strong America! Rebuilding the nations manufacturing strength, Leveling out the lopsided trade balance, Were is the short end?....I'm not seeing it...

Econometrics is, at its basis, nothing more than applied statistics. Trump should be lauded for not screwing up paradigms that were put in place by previous administrations. Analyses will show that the slopes for GDP in both Trump’s and Obama’s were nearly identical. Moreover, the zero intercepts of both had their origins in the Bush administration. If you were to analyze and parameterize conditions of both administrations, you would be able to parse those that led to economic success and those that were merely random, but correlated.

By the way, Smoke, your illustration was conjured up by the RNC and appears in Trump’s office. Indeed, it is yet another tool used to separate the US into the pure rural folks from the evil bicoastals.

The best economy and lowest unemployment in 50 yrs...manufacturing is coming back to the US big time..

Again reread my post, you might want to add to that. Less number of people coming in from south of the border and a new; and improved trade agreement between the US, Canada, and Mexico. All happened within the last three years and none due to previous administrations.

That's goofy talk. Bill is a comedian after all.
Well, yeah. But not a very good one.

And regardless of what he is, his remarks were not part of any act. He WANTS a recession. He WANTS his fellow Americans to lose their jobs, take a big hit in their 401Ks, and loose any pensions they might have qualified for. He wants his fellow Americans to suffer, in order to achieve his political ends.

And he ain't alone among leftists.

Vern has been propagandized with so much hate, and so little clarity.
