Ol' Mitt's gonna get a heavy dose of hate coming his way, but I doubt the Utah voters will turn against him. Mormons have an international outlook, and have been on the receiving end. Some of the dog whistles that light up the base leave enough of them cold, so that they'll give Mitt a pass.

was told by someone I know in Utah,, that unless he crosses the Tabernacle in some way, Mormons will vote for Mormons, regardless of which side of the aisle they are on

In 2016 they ran Evan Mcmullin so the LDS community had some they could vote for on principle.

I expect with the new Senate next year this dour Senator will be paying for the error of his ways.

Integrity? Who knows but I am quite sure that Romney's often professed loathing of Donald J. Trump has a lot to do with it too. I'd have less question about old Mitt's integrity if he'd been golfing buddies with "The Donald." Romney doesn't face re election for four years. He also has those deep ties in the Mormon Church lyman mentioned. Trump will be out of office when/if he's sworn in the next time, and he knows people can do a lot of forgetting in that time.

Joe Manchin, the current incarnation of Mary Landrieu, is also not up for re-election this year and voted guilty under duress as strongly inferred by his own words, but he doesn't face the voters again for two years. His state voted for Trump by over 30 points and I suspect he'll have to survive a strong Republican challenge. He has shown great political survivability and even if the Republicans run a strong candidate I figure he has a fighting chance and knows it.

Doug Jones from Alabama's short career in the Senate is effectively over. It was going to be almost surely over any way unless the Republican Alabamians put up Moore again and that isn't going to happen so I figure he knows he's a cooked goose no matter how he voted. That can be liberating in itself.

I actually think Susan Collins, who is up for re-election this time, has been the most consistent. She voted to acquit Bill Clinton and to acquit Donald Trump. I agree with both of those decisions. Maine is definitely on the blue side of purple, though, and I suspect her chances of being re elected this year are very slim.

My worst three votes as a voter:
Dennis "the menace" Kucinich, a mayor of Cleveland[true disaster]
John McCain [thought only of himself]
                  Mitt Romney [worthless]

and truly holding my nose - Georger Voinivich [master of camoflage] "more prograssive democrat than conservative"

Bloody link won't post. Mitten says he's glad he didn't do what was needed to win against Obama.

Just the guy we needed to go after the Mullahs. Did I vote for the lesser evil?

Either way, the democrats would have THEIR man in the office.
