A different observation: he may have just announced he will run for president, without saying so.

If the Dems end up with a brokered convention, they will be looking for someone who would be negotiated acceptable to the Bernieites and the Bidenites. They just want Hill to go away, and Pelosi is radioactive. Warren is on life support, trying to get a cabnet post or ambassadorship from whomever it now looks like will be the front runner. At least until the first vote at the convention. If there is a second vote, who else would they look to besides Chuckie?

Two points:

1. Trump takes similar shots at the judiciary, so it's a thing now that people do.

2. Roberts only gripes when the shots come from outside his political camp, which makes him just another guy, not some umpire above it all.
