    Did you hear about Trumps latest stupid move?

    Saudis Arabia crashed the oil market and Trump refilled our strategic oil reserves with the cheap oil. How stupid can you get?

          Why is this stupid? It's oil from the USA that he is putting back into the reserve. Not from overseas. Most of it is shale oil. And the price is much lower then it had been. Makes good sense to get it while he can before the prices go back up and they will.

                                          Since you guys so very much want to know,

                                          Yeah I figured it would be a thing to do when the news first broke.

                                          But I don't think it's going to move the market much, or for long.

                                          Still I'm a big fan of stockpiles, limiting imports, and reducing domestic consumption of petroleum through alternative energy and efficiency steps.

                                          If tomorrow they came up with some algea-powered battery or other that had the same energy density as diesel fuel, I would cheer for us to switch over ASAP.
