    Amish communities

In Iowa, we have a Amish community of about 3000 people. A woman who lives among them (she is not Amish) has reported that as a whole the Amish know nothing about the virus danger. They have no TV, radios, autos, telephones, etc. and very little outside contact as they are completely able to meet their needs 'in house'.
Are other Amish communities in other States the same, I wonder? Maybe S.A. Boggs can tell us more?

We have a large Amish community in our area and across the state line into Indiana. We see them every day in work crews and at Walmart.Over the last few weeks none at all.In our area they seem to have cell phones to do their work, many have construction companies. They will only use the phone during work hours and have a none Amish worker use the phone. Many have none Amish to drive them to work and to Doctors ,etc.

Seems hard to believe the word would not have reached them by now. Local health department outreach if nothing else. They're a practical people and already practice social distancing from us English.

Has anyone let Dwight Schrute know?

the Amish are not as "worldly" but do know about the world. When I talked to Issac he was hitching the horses to take the kids 3 miles to their school and was not concerned as to what the "English" are doing with their children. Their teachers are fellow Amish and the state pretty well leaves them alone...religion and all.

I took a 10 minute drive down the road and the kids were out and adults were out.As a teen I used to work for a few Amish as a roofer on their tear off crew. They are very nice and hard working. They are not dead and they are more ready for this then most.
