Trump says gun shops are essential businesses ...

Hopefully that should put the kibosh on all those gun grabbing Mayors
and Governors who ordered them closed.

You wouldn't happen to have a Model 1917 water cooled machinegun for sale cheap, would you?

I do have a soft spot in my heart for the Ma Deuce -- used to command a Mechanized Rifle Company -- but they cost so much to feed!

ammo has dropped recently, I have seen it as low as $2.60 a round for surplus

Do you know how fast a Ma Deuce can eat a 50-round belt?

I've put a few (hundred or more) rounds down range over the years,

It's impressive. I remember seeing the sun come up one morning through what had been impermeable jungle when it went down. On some of our Ma Deuces, the barrels had "drooped" from overheating, and in a couple of cases a bullet had failed to make the curve and went through the heat-softened metal.

This was a Mechanized Rifle Company -- 4 ACPs to the platoon, three platoons to the company, each with a Ma Deuce. Plus other vehicles similarly armed. I used to keep my command track filled with ammo and tow a jeep trailer filled with ammo.

Not sure about gun stores, but here in Ontario, Canada liquor stores have been designated as essential. Having returned from Florida we are now nearing the end of a 14 day quarantine period, but come Friday, I am going to pay one a visit. After all, if the Premier (equivalent to a US Governor) has declared them essential then I have a duty to demonstrate that I respect his judgement. Did I mention that the Premier is the younger brother of the late and infamous mayor of Toronto, the one who when explaining why he didn't recall something, stated (seriously) that he "must have been in a drunken stupor"

The spray and pray era of small unit tactics.

My wife's uncle was in such a unit, and described how they dealt with an ambush by levelling the surrounding jungle with firepower. Made for a long night and a very grey morning.
