Sixty years ago, my Mother's dream was to have a "Twenty thousand dollar home." My daughter just bought a modest house in Little Rock for $200,000.

Money that is not earned has no value -- so it dilutes the value of the earned dollars in circulation. Which is why raising the minimum wage never works.
