The question of whether Hillary would have handled this one better than Trump is an interesting one. We have a proxy for her of sorts in Angela Merkel. Let's compare how the Germans handle this virus compared to the Americans.

She made it to Congress, the Senate no less, which gives her a cankled leg up on our own Vernon.

Clinton like Merkel is a colorless administrator type whose strengths run to policy as opposed to flashy camera work. Both lack charisma and favor pant suits. Merkel is as close as we're going to get to a Hillary type running a developed country, so yes, let's watch what Germany does. Let's also see if the US administration is capable of learning from the success of other countries, or not.

Both the USA and Germany are federal systems with meaningful state level governments. One difference between them with Covid-19 is that Germany's response is driven at the Federal level, whereas in the USA the Federal Government isn't doing much except compete with states in the marketplace for scarce supplies, without a clear plan of what to do with the supplies it gets. Oh and blame the states for deaths and industry for shortages--that's part of the American plan too.

Germany has been at the Federal level with the exception of the Gauliters [sp] of World War Two Germany. People keep forgetting our 10th Amendment and that the Federal Government was created FOR THE STATES not the REVERSE. Governors run their respective states and can call upon the National Government for help when needed. Now there are places where the Federal Government has the right and duty to protect the states. Problem is that some states try and pick and choose.

Boggs would you consider this a national epidemic or a collection of state epidemics?

Hilz bought that seat, and everything else,

she is still a failure as a politician,

Germany, seems from the outside, to not have the divisiveness between states, like we do,

as in there does not appear to be a German version of Cuomo,
