Spoke with a woman who had been in banking in NY, told her I didn't think we could have a strong financial sector and a strong manufacturing/industrial sector; the two are competitors. And that since Clinton (or maybe even late Reagan) the tax laws have been too favorable to finance. She thought for a moment and agreed with both points.

Without serious tax reform to promote the recapitalization of American industry and manufacturing we will continue to be a low grade service economy with an ever widening income gap reducing the middle class to a husk.

But as I have said many times, you cannot talk tax reform intelligently without first talking spending. Until we get spending under control no tax proposal is "fair" -- they are all just propositions to steal a little less from this group and a little more from that group.

Unless it's a socialist idea -- and then they want to steal a LOT more from everybody.

Had a class in college and about this topic. We have been using this to control the county for over 100 years,Big Government ,Big Business and Big Unions. Some might not agree but if you study American History you can see it.At this time Big Government is out of control .both sides have no wish to clean house and rid departments that are not needed.

Your socialist argument is no long valid in this Covid economy.
