Put the city council in the hotels, and let the drug addicts run the city. They're probably smarter.

That's the craziest thing I've ever heard of. I am no longer surprised by anything anymore.
Put them on an old tanker. Tow it out fifteen miles and sink it. No one likes my ideas.
How about my Mohave desert refugee camp idea? Fifty miles out in the desert. Kind of like Mad Max. No one comes in and no one leaves. They can spend all the resources on them they want but get them out of the community.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

But don't come this way! We've got vampire bats in Arkansas, ticks as big as German Shepherds and rattlesnakes that can swallow a Buick.

all the yankees know is I95 runs south,

then they complain that the pizza and bagels taste different,

and generally complain about everything else too, ,

sometimes they get the reminder that 95 runs north as well

The Michigan UP might be a good place for a flatlander to ride this out,

If he has a place there,

And can bring all his supplies with him in a 6×12,

                Without attracting attention.

There is no zoning ordnance in this county. There is in the town of Mountain View. The Code Compliance Officer has dreams of grandeur and is always trying to get the county to adopt a zoning ordnance so he can be King of Stone County.

At a meeting, he said, "What if somebody came here from Chicago to buy a house, and found we don't have a code?"

The response almost blew the roof off the library, "Tell him to go the hell back where he came from!"

Vern, while I was on my last job assignment in Charleston, I always reminded people they didn't need to worry about me becoming a 'damn yankee'.

I would think rural property owners might want zoning ordinances, so they have some idea what their neighbors can or cannot do nearby. Imagine having your slice of paradise suddenly find itself adjacent to a quarry, with blasting and heavy trucks rumbling. Might be something of a disappointment as well as a financial loss on one's own property A well run zoning board doesn't make someone a 'king'.

Did you go to Kevin Barry's Pub? I go there every time I visit Charleston.
