The new Press Secretary replaces Stephanie Grisham, who in 9 months on the job never held a single press conference. It's an Orwellian idea, that the job of the Press Secretary is to keep the press away. Anyways, in a terrific example of failing upwards, Ms. McEnany was quoted on February 25, on Fox of course, saying the following:

“We will not see diseases like the coronavirus come here..and isn't it refreshing when contrasting it with the awful presidency of President Obama."

She's an obvious flack. How come we can't get better people to fill these jobs? Do we have to wait for a national emergency or something?

That is kind of the job, to exist in a state of dynamic tension between the bosses and the press. The government has a job to do, and so does the press, and I don't recall the founders saying the press is supposed to make it easy on the government,

or not call the government out when it tries to gaslight the public,

which all administrations do (yes even St. Barry the I).

Speaking of demonization, this administration demonizes the press, for acting in an independent/adversarial role, more than any in my lifetime, easily.

No administration likes it, but even W's administration understood it had a job to do (although that's more Bush than Cheney).

Cheney would probably feel very at home in this administration, if he could get past the Putin love part.

And in all my life time I have never seen the press take such an adversary roll against a sitting president. And I have been around a long time as I'm old... It's like the minute Hillary lost, the press went absolutely crazy and began attacking Trump like has never been done to a sitting president before...After 8 yrs of liberal leadership, the lib's can't stand they lost to a conservative administration and it's driving them beyond nuts..Look how the lib's are acting on just this forum...They are almost foaming at the mouth with their hate for Trump. On and On.They can hardly enter a post with out knocking Trump somehow. You know that's not normal. He either lives in their heads and if so, they need some mental healing help or as I said before, maybe they are on the Dem's payroll.....Too much and it's not normal...

Anyone who understands how our system is supposed to work should accept without a moment's hesitation that an adversarial press is part of it. True no matter what.

If Trump wore boxer shorts, they condemn him for it. If he wore briefs, they'd cite that as proof he's the Antichrist.

I have a theory that when you read something someone has read, you're looking inside their heads. That's why I have them on "ignore" -- because I don't want to look inside THOSE heads.

Ray: you look past the ways Trump baits and takes the fight to the press and then you are shocked (shocked!) that a scrum ensues. There's more than one guy in a street fight.

The harder the press works any administration, the better. Whining about mean coverage to the base is not the way to take care of the people's business.

People who think Trump is entitled to adulatory press coverage are simply doing United States wrong. They don't have to like it, but they are expected to understand that tough coverage helps keep our national gyros in gimbal.

No reporter need ever apologize for tough stories about the government. If they fudge facts they can get hammered for that. But a tough story, no way.

On one of my past post, I mentioned that when I went to check a news site on my cell phone. I was only directed to lefty news sites..a total of 12 of them and not one conservative site.. I understand now why you think like you do as many of them are the sites that you have referred in your postings...

This is an important story that Fox & Friends won't touch, and for which any House Investigation will be described as a political hatchet job aimed at making Trump look bad.

But that contract lapse is supposed to make Trump look good?

It doesn't matter if AM talk radio loves one party (wholly true) and broadcast TV news loves another (as some argue), and cable news splits the difference. The Government should expect to have its version of the facts challenged by a free press.

A government that wants better coverage should earn it by doing a better job.

My criticism of Trump's administration is rooted in performance. When he returns to private life, or prison, my interest in him will drop off.

There are plenty of fact checked stories out there. Is it possible you skip reading them because you don't like the conclusions they draw?

Ray..I read them..and not all the conclusions are what you like also....and there is a lot of liberal leaning in the sites that do the fact checking. as I demonstrated of the liberal influence of the press where I had shown that only liberal sites are listed on my cell phone to check the news.....
