Nothing wrong with a valid argument. What makes an argument "valid"? If lots of people agree with it? I'd say no, the test has to be a bit sterner, a bit more objective than that. And yes there should be a test. Some people don't like the idea that there is a test. In my line of work bad ideas get shot down as a normal part of business. It's expected and people don't expect to have winners every time.
