    Prescription insurance companies

I have had SilverScript for a few years with narry a problem. But, since Jan, 1, 2020, my costs have risen dramatically even with my Medicare. Example: my cholesterol script went from under $20 to $175. And, the worst part is they refused to cover a prescription I have been taking for 20+ years. I mean, they flatly said I could not have it. What's with that? How can they go against a doctor's prescription order? Who's running the 'ship'?

These outfits have formularies. Lists of medicines, in certain classes, that they do or don't sell. How a pill does or doesn't make a formulary list is insider stuff. And the lists change from time to time.

Article from January 2020. It may just be systematic profiteering, without the benefit of oversight.

I don’t know your cholesterol medication but the common drug Lipitor (generic atorvastatin) costs $20.00 for 90 days (40 mg) through good rx.

go to Wal Mart's website and you can look up all your drugs. They will give you the generic name, and the price.
