What, you want him on the loose, interfering and posturing everywhere?

Cuomo isn't President. He can have a clear idea of what the Federal Government can/should do but aside from showing persistence he is limited. The problem is that Trump doesn't want the Federal Government to give a competent "deep state" response because that would undercut his political messaging. So he's half-*ssing it in the usual way while insisting that no one could do it better. Note to Ray: not a gripe, just a simple observation. You won't find any disagreement inside the admin itself.

        good observation of Cuomo,

would add that apparently a lot of the 'need' he proclaims is apparently due to shortages he created in the past,

and of course, he is another posturing new yorker

Yes the New Yorker thing gets a bit old. I know they got slammed in 9/11 and now they took a direct hit with the virus, but honestly their sense of self-importance is off the charts.

My my how the table has turned. Since Trump has been in office Cuomo and NYC have practically declared themself a separate country with the beliefs that NY can become a sanctuary state and defy all illegal immigration laws. They will not work with ICE (a federal agency) and oppose most of our laws and constitution.

NOW, they want preferential attention. They want medical supplies that would be going to responsible states. NO, they didn't plan for this and while no one saw this coming, a city that packs people like caged rats should have the medical facilities to treat their multitude.

Instead, like SF and LA, they use their resources to provide for the illegals for their votes. Let the illegals take care of the ones who worship them so. Then deport them.

Sometimes you simply get what you sow.

Other times you're forced by powers beyond your control to accept what you did NOT sow. All of Upstate NY is now suffering the consequences of this megalomaniac's refusal to impose a quarantine on the NYC area. Every available vacation rental property (there are thousands of them) has been rented by those escaping from the "epicenter"; these places don't come cheap, so the people renting them must be rich, or among the many thousands on paid vacation (teachers & state gov't workers). I don't blame them for wanting to escape, but when so many have been forced to make the sacrifice of loosing their jobs or businesses (they aren't the ones with money to rent chalets!), restricting travel out of NYC would not have been an unreasonable sacrifice to impose. ALL the original cases in my area have been traced to "emigrants" from NYC! A supervisor at one of the several state prisons in this area told me that for four weeks after the first "state of emergency" was declared, inmates sentenced in NYC were still being shipped upstate, which wasn't stopped until the guard's union threatened a "sick-out"! That's a story you won't find reported on CNN or the NY Times! Needless to say, there are now cases in all these prisons.

This bastard LOST the last upstate vote, and is kept in office only by the 8 mill he "owns" in NYC, so do you suppose it's a coincidence that he refused to impose restrictions that might have cost him those votes?

Then let upstate New York vote him out. He's their governor, not ours.

I think what CH is saying is that upstate NY doesn't have the population to compete with NYC. So the city population votes control the whole state.

Like a miniature popular vote/electoral vote situation.

The city subsidizes the rest of the state. Not only tax revenue, but also private sector spending. NY like CA, TX, MA, does a good job of pulling money out of the other states.

Then THEY -- the upstaters -- need to do something about it.

                        Aside from assassination what?

They are outnumbered voting wise. That's why NYC wants all the homeless and illegals they can get.

Meanwhile, spending all their resources for such they got caught with their pants down having no reserve of medical supplies or facilities. Solution? Blame Trump.

Of course--that's why he can thumb his nose at the rest of the state. But even upstate, every big city like Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester has its minority population, which is another "sure thing" for him & all other Dems.

Wouldn't that be a shame. Maybe someone who's lost the business he spent years building, now totally ruined, nothing else to live for...
