    Stimulus money

I still haven't found a single person that personally knows a victim of the coronavirus. The Washington General Hospital in Fayetteville AR just laid off 300 employees including my neighbor's wife because the number of patients are so small there is nothing for them to do.

As far as the stimulus goes, today I found the only one person I know that has received money, $1,200. I find it interesting that she has been in the USA for 3 years and is a citizen of the Philippines, and here on a visa, she has never worked in the USA, she has no income, lives with her daughter and son in law, she is 60 and has no income. She got a check today for $1,200.

Who do you think she is going to vote for in November?

$1200 buys a vote? In some circles there's a different name for that.

Has ArKansas stopped elective surgery? Maintaining the unhealthy population is where the money is at...free market and all.

      Va has stopped elective surgery,

      only emergencies etc,

hospitals are on lockdown, no visitors, same for nursing homes,

plans were to put up temp hospitals in several areas, including the expo hall that hosts the Nation's Gun Show,,

I think those plans have been put on hold so far

        Same here in Arizona.

An excess of medical resources should be welcomed in every community impacted by this virus. Unfortunately, that doesnt keep the lights on.

I know a guy who had it and multiple people who know others. Nobody who died but one guy coughed blood at home for 48 hours straight before he started feeling better.

Added: saw the Government put money in our joint account via direct deposit. So I miss out on the Trump signature checks.

Any chance those will become real collector's items, worth more uncashed?

Well then, let me enlighten you since you seem to be out of touch with reality again. I live in a continuing care community. As of this date 28 of the residents are sick with this, 5 are in the hospital and 4 have died. It is even worse among the employees as 40 of them are sick at home. We are in total quarantine here and this place is following all CDC guidelines for centers like this. To give just a few examples. All residents are required to stay in their apartments. The only exception is that we are allowed to go outside and walk around the property. My wife and I do this every day since this center is located on 68 acres with a lot of trails and beautiful woodlands. No visitors or relatives are allowed in. All the dining rooms are closed and meals are dropped off at the door to your apartment. The same with mail. Since we are all old this disease is very frightening. The mortality rate for seniors citizens is 20%.

I could go on and on with this, but I just wanted to let you know that there is much more going on in this country than in your little corner of the world.

So you live in a hot spot. Continuing Care is another code name for nursing home, assisted living, hospice.

California with a 40 million population has 10% of deaths in NY City alone. If you choose to live in the Florida Keys, and a hurricane wipes you out... or if you chose to live on the Mississippi River and you get flooded, or you live in Tornado Alley and get blown away. You have chosen to live in a risky place and are paying the price... Maybe, just maybe, what is happening around you, is the bad result of a decision.

So... 300,000 people die from the virus and 30,000,000 lives are ruined by the shutdown...

Well Red, here is the facts. A family friend, that we consider extended family passed away this past week. She was up in age, had some other health issues. She passed away due to the virus. Now you know someone who lost a "family" member due to the virus.
Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

That would be about 300,000,000. Now to be clear, not everyone's life will be ruined by this. There's a silver cloud behind every lining. Lower pollution, lower gas prices, lower population(somewhat).
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

                        actually,

                        kinda, but not really,

continuing care is a bit different,

one of my good friends put his mother (voluntarilly) into one this past year,

she has a private residence, only help she had was maid service , and that was limited,

she fell and broke her leg (she is in her 90's) and required surgery,

I posted here before she was in lockdown at a local hospital, and when released kept in lockdown and transferred back to her residence,

she does have what you may call assisted living now, as in someone keeps an eye on her until she has completely recovered,

then she may stay in the area she is in now, or may go back to her apartment,

she and her family are ok with the facility,

                        no house to care for
independent living, and they could (before the beer fle) visit whenever they wanted,

if (or when) she needs more care, assisted, nursing, or even hospice, it is available on the premise and part of the package ,

I have never been good with math and I but when did 30,000,000 suddenly become 300,000,000. 30,000,000 is a lot of lives to ruin in order to get rid of Trump and that is what this whole thing is about. The Commie/Socialist/traitors want to end the U.S. Constitution and turn the U.S. into another turd world country. It is not about saving lives, it is about power and politics.

I don't think you have a clue... Try to understand that if the the left wing wins this war, gas will be $10/gallon... petroleum powered vehicles will phased out. It won't matter because you will be quarantined into your house and will be arrested if you try to travel. Life as you have known it will not exist. Freedom will be a thing of the past. So go ahead deride and giggle, and laugh...

So Red when you go out are you in full PPE or do you try to set a good example of what freedom is supposed to look like? If you get sick are you going to demand treatment or tough it out at home as an expression of your individual liberty? Inquiring minds want to know!!

It is none of your business... but I wear the same clothes and do essentially the same things I normally do. All the restaurants are shut down but I still see the same people I always see. I go fishing and am pretty sure I'm not going to get the virus from the crappie and bass that I catch. No body I know has the virus but people I know are literally dying because of the shutdown. My own daughter in law lives in KC MO. In march she had a procedure to remove a polyp from her uterus. The biopsy came back malignant and she was scheduled for surgery the next week... It was cancelled and her new appointment isn't till mid June. Meanwhile the surgeon and the operating room is closed... The reason: Jackasses like you are willing to let people die because you hate Trump...
