    Security warning

This may not be the correct forum in which to post this but I thought that I should share info on an e-mail that I got this afternoon

I received an e mail in which the subject line was the password that I use for non-critical sites such as this one

The e-mail was a blackmail attempt in which the sender says that he /she has my e-mail and knows everything about me including all the porn sites that I have looked at for the last 124 days. Sender goes on to say that he/she has taken over the camera in my computer and has a video of me masturbating while looking at the porn sites and threatens to send the video to everyone I know including my mother (the computer that I often use is fairly old and does not have a camera and my mother died 20 years ago)

The sender says that this is a one time warning and that I have 24 hours to send $2,000 in bitcoins. My wife is still laughing about this.

From the grammar, my sense is that the sender is in India. That makes it very difficult to control.

Bottom line here though is that someone has hacked a site that I use. We should all do what the experts say and change passwords every 90 days or so.

This being a site used by gentlemen, I will not offer to describe what I think should be done to this scum but I do know that the local choirs are in need of sopranos

Well if he's from India we could force him to eat raw beef, and maybe raw pork too, just to play it safe. And not the good cuts either.

Haven't gotten that one, but recently received 3 from "sklollio14" with "Re: Your Guns" as the subject, which I deleted. What I've actually been hoping to receive is one of those phone calls from some Nigerian or other Turd World con-artist that, according to the media, are constantly scamming morons who fall for their silly threats; the opportunity to tell such a scammer what I think of foreign scum would be priceless. But email scams do alarm me, as there's no effective way to retaliate, as there would be with a phone call.

I would be tempted to reply back with an invoice for services rendered,

and explain to him that your camera is a pay per view site and that he owes you much more than 2000 bitcoins,

I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to send bitcoin.
