Why Liberals and Democrats are more apt to get COVID-19

The COVID-19 outbreak in the United States has put a spotlight on economic inequalities and a fragile social safety net that leaves vulnerable communities to bear the economic brunt of the crisis, Human Rights Watch said today. US policymakers will need to consider these underlying inequalities in responding urgently to the mounting challenges of the pandemic.

The answer is quite simple. Conservatives and Republicans are smarter. People in lower class neighborhoods are living in lower class neighborhoods because their income is across the board lower than those living more prosperous 'hoods. Uneducated, ignorant people, are being infected at a much higher rate than people who have college degrees and can afford to live better than the people that didn't pay attention in high school.

The Pew Research Center found that the yearly income gap between high school and college graduates is around $17,500
On the average, Democrats are just, dumber than Republicans.

Unfortunately, the media's favorite new darling Andrew Cuomo is not among them. CNN hero Chris Cuomo got it, but only a very mild case...how disappointing; esp. for him, because otherwise he could have taken his grandstanding to greater heights.

The NY Post is not exactly a bastion of right-wing ideology, but take a moment to read the Post's hilarious put-down of egotistical ass Chris:

Oh, but let's not overlook their glamorous sister Maria:

Here is one article that says Red has it ass backwards, if defining political orientation by voting habits (a reasonable measure). Others exist as well.

Sometimes statistical analysis is tricky, and sometimes a finding just jumps off the page. Here’s one example of the latter. I took a list of all 981 U.S. count…

We know what puts people at risk of getting the disease. Health care workers get it at disproportionally high rates compared to other occupations. According to Red that's because they're stupid.

          +1

Just looking at the ratio of infected blacks vs their population ratio would support this.

Trump is playing "Turkey in the Straw" on his harmonica, and the local liberals are do-si-doing up a storm.

It is all about population density doofus. Check the density of some of the boroughs in New York City. Manhattan may have one the highest residential densities of any place in the world. Now let us get to some real world numbers. The five most highly educated states are what you would call liberal (Massachusetts, Maryland, Vermont, Connecticut and Colorado) followed by the remainder in the top ten which are in various stages of liberalism (Virginia, Wash, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Minnesota) . The five most poorly educated states are what you would call conservative (Mississippi, West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Alabama). Average salaries in both classes are reflective.

Care to talk money and GDP? The gross domestic product of New York State (1.8 trillion) far exceeds that of the ten poorest educated, conservative states with one of the boroughs of New York alone (Manhattan) having a GDP of 690 billion which is nearly six times that of Arkansas. The average resident of Manhattan is responsible for nearly $450, 000 in GDP while the national average is $50,000 and that for Arkansas is barely $35,000. The average Manhattan resident possesses at least a bachelor’s degree with an additional 20% having a graduate or professional degree.

OK Doofus... So the rich and well educated are the ones being infected? I must have missed that missed that somewhere in the link that says the poor and downtrodden are the ones mostly being infected?

While the virus infects people regardless of wealth, the poor will be most affected due to longstanding segregation by income and race, reduced economic mobility, and the high cost of medical care. Low-income communities are more likely to be exposed to the virus, have higher mortality rates, and suffer economically. In times of economic crisis, these vulnerabilities will be more pronounced for marginal groups – identified by race, gender, and immigration status.
I live in a comfortable neighborhood where most of the people live are professionals, have good jobs, or are retired. There is not one COVID-19 case in our entire community and I have yet to talk to a friend or relative that even knows anybody that knows of an actual case. RTK says he knows dozens of people that have the disease and they are dying by the dozens. Apparently, he lives in a slum that is populated by a lot of Democrats.

Professionally Retired? Same as a welfare recipient.

I'm not your strawman. Thanks for thinking of me, that's sweet.

Actually the game right now is "fish in a barrel". And Red is the fish. Do try to keep up.

He's holding the barrel, and maybe refilling the water.

I have found in my 30 plus years of law enforcement experience, that many of the people I met and/or arrested, that education does not guarantee brains or common sense. Lol
