If you are going to complain about the time maybe you should start with Dianne Feinstein who sandbagged Kavanaugh by sitting on Blasey Ford's allegations for weeks before coming forward with her at the very end of the hearings. If she had produced her at the start of the hearings, and she knew about her at that time maybe your argument on that would hold some water.
The FBI did a full field investigation on Kavanaugh very shortly after the charges against him were made. Contrary to what some will tell you, in a case like this all the leads can be run down in a few days which was what the Dems asked for. I'm certain the Bureau assigned a competent agent to each lead and in that case it dosen't take long. After the investigation the Dems asked for more time on the spurious grounds that the investigation hadn't been complete enough.
The inconstancies with Blasey Ford are almost too numerous to mention, but I'll hit some of the high spots. She couldn't pin down the time of the assault to within a year, couldn't remember where it was or how she got there except she went in a car and remembers none of the occupants. As for the party she says she was assaulted at, she remembers three things: She had one beer, she was assaulted by Kavanaugh and another man, and a friend of hers named Leland Keyser was there. Leland Keyser is a real problem. She is a Democrat party activist who at one time was married to Bob Beckel. She was not called as a witness because she told the investigators that she had never met Brett Kavanaugh and had never been to any such party. She got a lot of heat about that from the left including threats to expose some regrettable events from her past but she stood firm.
Add to that Avenatti, the professional criminal lawyer (pun intended) who was at one time being promoted by the left as a possible candidate for president produced three women whose testimony in at least one case was perjured and that perjury was suborned by the said Michael Avenatti. The others all crawfished out of it in one way for another. Of course that was before Avenatti was discovered to have, among other things, embezzeled money from clients, including Stormey Daniels and tried to extort money from Nike.
Maureen Dowd, a hard left Democrat has a column similar to the one I attached above about her concerns on this. She said that people who know Biden well have said they can't imagine him doing anything like the acts he's accused of. She also says her own Brother, who knows Kavanaugh very well can't imagine him doing the stuff he was charged with.
If you want I'll be glad to post a list of Republicans who have been forced from office, often by their own party because of sexual or other "inconvenient" picadillos but what would be the point. If you're a Democrat nothing will ever exonerate Kavanaugh and that includes Jesus and Moses coming down and testifying for him. The same goes for Joe Biden and some Republicans.
Again, where you stand depends on where you sit.
One thing about eyewitness testimony. It can be very unreliable, and gets more unreliable over time. The Innocence Project has gotten a lot of men convicted of sexual assaults convictions reversed that were based on the timely testimony of an eyewitness This after a re examination of the forensic evidence, including DNA evidence proving conclusively that the defendant couldn't possibly committed the crime. How much less reliable is the testimony of victim testifying after decades? There is in fact a valid reason for Statutes of Limitations.
If you really want to take the pulse of the parties I suggest regular visits to "Real Clear Politics" and "The Hill." It can be very enlightening.
