LONDON — World leaders came together in a virtual online summit Monday to pledge bill

LONDON — World leaders came together in a virtual online summit Monday to pledge billions of dollars to quickly develop vaccines and drugs to fight the coronavirus.

Missing was any representation from the United States.....

just kind of wondered why .... aren't we part of being world leaders any more ?.... or maybe we don't want to embarrass ourselves ?

If another country gets a great vaccine before us,

      and many are trying,

they may feel they have good reason to make us wait for the formula.

And US pharma, if they have the vaccine, will charge $5,000 a shot. So long as insurance or Medicare covers it, who cares, except if they sell it overseas the same shot will go for 50¢.

And as the Teaparty 2.0 goes around with pink camo and AK's, protesting the closure of dog groomers and nail salons, they should be demanding the healthcare access that every other industrialized nation appears to have. All while the administration supports the defunding of Social Security and the Medicare that many currently appreciate.

Here is a link to the story: https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...vid-19-vaccine

              And another link: https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/glo...deau-1.5554278

              And another: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/worl...r-coronavirus/

Apparently Canada did not offer more money for research pointing out that we had already promised $850 to the international effort.

My guess is 850 million Canadian dollars since it sounds better than the US equivalent, which is about $604 million

                      Ah, million!

Credit to Canada. US seems determined to just let it burn, and for people to get used to the death toll. Freedom, you know. Of course if a treatment comes along that could have prevented those deaths, had people been a bit more patient....
