Tests For Me, Not For Thee

White House will keep running with daily tests and contract tracing. But is mum on how American businesses are supposed to do the same thing.

Meanwhile NZ has eliminated the virus for now, Oz getting there. Yet for some reason the Federal Government refuses to go all-in on a national testing regime. This baby is ballistic now, to a certain outcome.

"Some reason," you idiot, is that the testing materials (made in China!) are in very short supply. If they were widely available, every state & locality would be doing their own testing without giving a s*** about the feds.

Are you sick,do you know someone is sick? So why do you want to be tested? Perhaps you need to be a royal pain in the a** to be happy.

Wow the brainwashing has kicked in. It's a national pandemic, so naturally every state should see to its own supplies, bidding up the price against other states, and float bond issues as necessary to raise the money. States can't print money like the Federal Reserve. If a state goes broke, the virus wins.

CH is calling other people idiots!

China he says? So... let's get into a pissing match with the Chinese, inflaming relations so as to increase our shortages!

Sorry CH the testing debacle is rightly placed at the feet of the Federal Government, which, incredibly enough, is barely trying. The CDC? Sidelined. Someone has to drink waaay too much kool-aid to think this is the best that anyone could do.

Like I said...the situation is ballistic now. By July 4 well have a pretty good idea of what we're in for. Probably not pretty.

Businesses need testing to keep running, just like the White House. Trump has all the tests he needs, while the he tells the states to beggar off.

So you think everyone needs tested to go to work, shopping, going to the playground, playing a round of golf, testing a new car. What you want is to bankrupt the Federal, State, local, governments and then have your new world order take over. Our local health care system has the test kits and they test when needed. They have tested 40 plus and only 3 have had the virus. We know you hate Trump and America and you can only hope this virus hangs in there so one of your great Democrats can take over.

If you are not having symtoms of the virus, why waste a 'test'? A local woman got tested by her doctor and wound up being charged $1000 for the test.

                    You are misrepresenting the situation.

What is bankrupting people is lack of confidence. The fact is, there are enough scary stories out there about the virus, so that people won't go into the malls, restaurants, etc. if they think they can get sick. Boggs and Vernon here go full on PPE when they have to go out. Hard to eat a burger in full PPE.

What is needed is a testing regime that can get on top of local hot spots, with contact tracing, to keep the from growing. Once people have a reasonable expectation that they can do certain things without getting sick, then they will do them. Since those hot spots can show up anywhere in the country, a Federal response is appropriate. As we saw, NYS got overwhelmed, and the virus spilled over. That could happen to any city in the US.

Read up on the virus testing strategies that are being used to success in other countries, and in a few locations (like WA state), in the USA. Then tell me why that shouldn't be the national strategy.

Every state & most county health depts. are ALREADY doing that without the need of a new federal bureaucracy; my rural county with very limited resources posts a weekly tabulation of new cases (none), hospitalizations (none), deaths (none), recoveries (all but a few), etc. The person who tests negative today could be positive tomorrow, unless he remains confined in an isolation chamber. Testing would have to be done every single DAY to guarantee that the people you come into random contact with aren't infected.

Nationally, outside of NY, the rate of new cases is rising, not falling. Probably it rises further as states ease restrictions. Maybe more outdoor time helps with that in the summer. I'd like to think so but time will tell. (It appears to be an indoor virus and in the summer much of the country is inside in the AC.)

But whatever we're doing, the results aren't there yet, as judged by the rate of new cases. Not enough to say we're getting this genie back in the bottle, or even holding it at bay. And people are tired of the restrictions.

                          So....let's try this another way.

What would it take to get people dining out, flying for business and tourism, going to a ball game, or a Trump rally again? As soon as possible?

Whatever that is, how about we do that to the max, with the Federal Government leading the way.

I've said this before: if Trump pulls out all the stops, and the country quickly gets a handle on the virus, like a few other countries have, and he wins re-election in a landslide, I'm okay with that.

I read a lot about this subject, even had to study it in college. This has been a hit for the media and they have running the show. All the advertisers for all of the company's telling us what to do and how to stay safe.Open up the country and watch how fast things start to move, most people understand we can get sick and a few will die.We die everyday, driving to work,at work, picking up lunch. The Federal Government is ready to open up now its up to the States to follow.I am ready to go out to see a movie, watch the Reds play go down to Columbus to see the Buckeye's win.We as a family don't go out much to eat,or go shopping at the malls.

And now, the professional cry-babies & bed-wetters are beginning to complain about neglecting the problems of opiate abusers, because they're no longer receiving the media's undivided attention. Supposedly, more of them are ODing because health care workers are preoccupied with Chiflu. Isn't that a shame?
