Yeah, you started the thread and you're so hot to trot to get us all in masks, why don't you dig in your pocket and get the money for him to start his line and maybe he'll let you have the first box off and leave my taxes out of it.

You don't understand. Leftists make rules for OTHER people to follow. They don't DO anything, they expect YOU to do it for them.

We all know that government entities are not very nimble which is really sad. One of the reasons is the code of Federal Regulations and everyone wants to justify their jobs and positions.
To Error Is Human To Forgive Is Not SAC Policy

What did I say? I would like to know the reasons why his equipment is not running, given the fact that the country doesn't yet have enough masks or the other stuff. Try to buy a box of nitrile gloves in the ag section of the local store lately? None on the shelves. (They come in handy during gun cleaning.)

Wanting to know the reason.....someone explain to me what is so wrong with that. And no, "making the admin look bad" does not count as a real reason.

from your first post in this thread

*****I would very much like to understand why the country cannot figure out how to get that production online.*******

shows how much you don't know about how businesses run, how the government runs, and how the system works,

and now you get huffy when it is explained to you?

                LOL,

                You call those explanations?

I call them speculations with no details supported by direct facts in the matter.

Sorry for not getting the two confused.

I would stack up my knowledge of a lot of these areas to yours, except to do that, you would actually have to put some of your knowledge on display, explained clearly,

and we both know that will never happen.

Added: as of now the story shows no signs of going anywhere so probably we will never know, or at least not until the books are written years from now on WTF happened in the early days of the pandemic.

                  interesting attitude changes,

folks answer your questions and concerns, then you act like you didn't want to know, or did not know, now all insulting and defensive,

                  twist and turn a bit??

how exactly are we going to get facts in the matter with out meeting up with the guy and seeing what he has done,

                  again, stop the insults,

and again, learn to comprehend that not everyone is the type that has to put their knowledge on display,, but apparently you do,

                    btw,

you are the one that mentioned you had friends in procurement,

if you actually do, go ask them,

or better yet, call several of the local big businesses you can think of and try to sell them a product,

I have a friend that works for the feds (a real live human that I talk too) and does procurement contracts,
                    it is a lengthy process,

I have another real live human friend that has a business that sells products to various fed/state/private enterprises, and has to jump thru the hoops, and his business is good, (disabled Vet, makes getting some contracts just a bit easier) and has been doing it for 25+ yrs,

and btw, been management of buildings for 2 corporations, had to deal with vendors, getting new ones lined up, thru the system, etc etc,

so yes, I do know what I am speaking of,

do we still need to prove who's is bigger??

or do you want to twist and turn some more?

What insults? An opinion is not a fact.

So on the topic of insults, I know you are just kidding, because you're not thin skinned.

The truth is, none of us has any first hand knowledge of the particulars in this matter beyond the following:

We know that there is a general shortage of N95 masks because there are none on store shelves and they're all rationed to health care and responders. We know this guy says he could make more if he had help with the costs. We know no state or branch of the federal government has taken him up on his offer. We don't know why.

Beyond that we can speculate on the reasons. Government procurement can be a nightmare. Maybe he doesn't have an Affirmative Action plan on file? It could be 100's of things from bureaucratic to logistical to his costs being too damn high to chaos in government procurement causing this one to just fall through the cracks.

Guesses are nice, but real facts would be nicer still. Anyhoo the story is not catching on so in a week all forgotten.

                      Last word is yours.

If he "needs" help with the cost, go to the bank like the rest of us business owners and obtain the money to start the line, and then make your money back from selling the product. That is how it is done. This fella wants someone to use someone else's money to pay him to do something that might happen, and then he decides he won't make enough money so he drops the idea and makes out like a bandit. If he already has the line, then it's just a matter of starting it up. And yes, I have dealt with gov. jobs too, and it is a nightmare with all the paperwork and monitoring that you have to make it through. So for him, show a product or stop whining that you want more money. That seems to be the mantra today, "give me some money and I'll try to do something and if it doesn't work, no loss to me".
Apparently this togor fella has not done much along the line of making it on his own.
