I find it hard to believe that there isn't a law against allowing openly
hostile countries like China buying any militarily essential industry.

It's not like they could dig the wells up and take them to China.

Mauser sued the US Government for patent infringement when we adopted clip loading for the 1903 Springfield -- and we lost the case. We paid a royalty on every clip we manufactured until we declared war on Germany, and confiscated their patents as enemy property.

Same rule holds here -- they get too froggy with us, and it's their tail that's caught in the crack.

They'll just ship the oil and gas back to China.
So how do we handle the problem short of going to war ?

Jack up the severance tax. That's the tax producers have to pay to compensate for using up the oil.

We don't want any war. With china or anyone. What we need is to keep and get our industries back into the usa instead of farming it out to make a bigger profit margin.

Whose industries? Unless someone is a shareholder, the industry isn't theirs. And if they are a shareholder, then they can vote for board members per their preference. You may not like it but that's the system.

That would also penalize those Oil Industries not owned by China

No, we can do it selectively -- raise the tax on oil being exported.
