COVID-19 is overwhelmingly affecting non white people

They are the people most likely to catching the virus..

Researchers tested 4,160 people for coronavirus in a San Francisco neighborhood. Not a single white person tested positive.
A coronavirus testing project in San Francisco has provided yet another example of how and in this case the Hispanic population are the people more exposed to the virus because of their work and that many live with number of others..Were as many whites can work from home lessening their exposure....Only makes sense...

The project involved testing 4,160 residents of San Francisco's Mission District — and found that not a single white person tested positive, Stat News reports.

The project focused on a single, 16-square-block census tract in the Mission district, "one of the city's most densely populated and heavily Latinx neighborhoods," Stat News writes. A third of the tract's residents are white, while 58 percent are Hispanic, the U.S. Census estimates. But 95 percent of those who tested positive were Latinx, while no white person in the tract tested positive.

kinda lays it bare to the touch doesn't it

forgot to add: working for peanuts much of the time

sounds like tinder to me waiting for a match

We've seen how nervous packing plant managers (and politicians) get when suddenly deprived of a cadre of people willing to do what is difficult work for low pay in the best of times. Another truth laid bare by the virus, and by no means the last one.

Right they're not billionaires all of them (although the region has many) but those tech workers have salaries on average north of 200K/yr, which is driven by supply/demand and the cost of housing. They can work at home because the computers don't care.

Actually Ray for only $9.95 a month at Amazon you can monitor the keystrokes of up to 5 people. You don't see everything they type (like passwords) but info on sites and stuff so you know what they are doing and when. It's awesome.

I haven't found any "illegals" that will work for peanuts. They are making as much as any construction worker.

CNN had a blurb on early about how Covid is racist,

not because of where the folks worked, but because of underlying factors and health issues that tend to like one race vs the other, and also considered lifestyles,

guessing Jesse and Al will be around to get some more money for it soon

That's true, but the Politically Correct truth is that deserving undocumented Democrats, underpaid and exploited by the rich White folks, are the victim of another racist plot.

"Working for peanuts" is certainly a myth, & they find out what the going labor rate is before their backs dry; even if new arrivals were willing to work for peanuts, their compatriots would quickly change their minds. But they WILL work, & that's why employers are willing to pay a competitive wage, esp. when no US citizens want the jobs.

Of course, US citizens (and a lot of illegals) are PAID not to work.

There's a student nurse who comes in 2-3 hours a day and helps my wife. She works for a company that provides these services and has several clients. She was telling me about one family -- wife, husband and mother-in-law, who are all on disability. Their checks combine to $2,700 a month. One of the things the little girl does for them is make out their monthly budget. The FIRST item on the budget, at their insistence, is $900. For tobacco!!

Guess who pays for that tobacco?

Peanuts is a relative measure, and working poor are not a myth. As for the OP I would be curious to know how many are getting sick on the job.

"Working poor" is one thing, but YOU claimed illegals were being exploited by paying them "peanuts," which is a myth, or rather a LIE.

The average hourly wage for packing house workers (mostly illegals) is $13.68, surely a low wage, but that's almost twice the fed min wage.

Woo hoo twice the Federal Minimum Wage!!

$15/hr full time is about $2400 a month, before taxes or insurance or any of the costs associated with working a job.

And let's put it into perspective....the techie making $100/hr equivalent is safer at home while the guy in the low teens is putting himself out there to make sure the techie stays fed.

It's not fair, but the essence of life is "unfairness". The meat chopper should be paid a lot more & the miserable yuppie a lot less; in fact, the latter should be made to spend a few months or yrs chopping meat or digging ditches to find out what REAL work is all about; as I have, by the way. But if you want to talk about the inequities of life, explain why such an arrogant POS as Moochele is now worth millions. Or, in the case of an even greater POS, Oprah, BILLIONS.
