    Minneapolis Police Contract, 2017-2019

Found this on the web, not the one currently in force but probably close to it.

Reads like a nightmare from the worst of the bad days of unions, when employers had no power at all.

One of the reasons IMO that northern police departments have these kinds of problems more than southern ones is too much union protection. Bust the union and get a police department (and I suppose parks department but who cares) that better reflects what the people want.

When my boat sinks and I find myself washed up on the shore with no hope of rescue I'll read that.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

This is for the Parks and Recreation Police and not the city of Minneapolis Police Department.

Yes the Park Police. Who knew that the parks department needed their own cops? Section 26 says something about "in the event of a merger with the Minneapolis Police department..."

            Still a helluva contract.

Here is one for the city cops from '12-'14. Haven't skimmed it yet.

Added: I searched for the word "seniority" and found it I think 39 times, give or take. My beef with unions centers around this word, which I think at the root of the kinds of problems that can come with unions. If someone sticks around long enough they take their foot of the gas and then it costs more to get less out of them, and their seniority status makes it damned near impossible to move them to where they'll do less harm.

And for overkill, this appears to be the contract that just wrapped up at the end of 2019

              Enjoy!
