    Meanwhile Elsewhere In Minnesota

This guy is blaming the government when it's the virus that is the problem. And he's admitting that it's not about the money he isn't making, but rather the principle of the thing. What principle? That health departments should be toothless in a pandemic? Even the Swedes wouldn't go that far. He lost his first round in Federal Court, and Roberts has already signalled that he has no time for this kind of nonsense. Seems like another expression of "privilege".

Guy looks like he could stand to skip a few snacks too.

    wow,

dude want's to open, state says no, and you say 'priviledge'?

some may say he just wants to make a buck, american dream, etc, and that the patrons know the risk and are willing to accept it,

and you say he is fat,,

maybe when they enter your reeducation camp, comrade togor, you can put them on a diet and exercise program?

Didn't another guy have camps about 80 years ago? Dachau is a name of a camp that comes to mind.

You didn't read the article so your replies are pointless.

Go back and read the article.

No problem, Togor, there were only 360 or so businesses in the Twin Cities vandalized or looted,
Were it all started..Didn't you live there before.. maybe you'll recognize some of these business'?

As of Wednesday, only 360 or more businesses across the Twin Cities had been vandalized, looted or had doors and windows smashed. Some have been reduced to rubble, and at least 66 have been destroyed completely by fire. Others have reported extensive water damage or severe fire damage.

See the list of the Twin Cities businesses hit hard in the past week by looting and rioting following the Memorial Day death of George Floyd
How anyone can stick up for these people is beyond me..

His girth tells me that he's used to immediate gratification, but it may be a glandular condition I suppose. Peripheral to the point however.

But he went into the bar/restaurant biz. One of the risks of being in that business is that if there is an epidemic, he may be screwed. That should be an obvious point, and probably is when it's a purely academic exercise (say when no pandemic is rampaging).

But here we are, and yes just like in the old days, health departments need to be able to clamp down on stuff. We may not like it, but sometimes it is necessary for government actions to lead to winners and losers. (We could talk tariff policy as an example that was completely arbitrary in its application.) His privilege is in having the expectation that he would never be one of the losers, that government exists to make his life better.

He's in the public gathering biz. Public gatherings are being curtailed to fight the epidemic. He's not completely shut down, but he is trimmed back. If he's arguing the science, then let him bring his experts. If he's arguing the principle that health departments need to be toothless, which does in fact seem to be what he is arguing, then I'll be glad to see him go down in flames.

Actually no I said that was peripheral to the point. But you seem stuck on it now, probably as an excuse to not engage the other points already made, or the one below.

What if his kitchens were full of rats? Would closing him down be an unconstitutional infringement by the tyrannical health inspectors? The rats can't take the customers down, maybe just make them sick. From that perspective isn't the virus just another form of vermin? Why resist the health department's rules unless one feels entitled to do whatever the hell they want?

I have a nice solution: indemnify those businesses that follow the guidelines, and hold liable those who do not. If someone eats somewhere and gets sick, and the biz didn't follow health procedure, then they're open to lawsuit. Gotta feeling the guy's insurance company will bring him around before lunch.

                              one again you strawmangaslightbs ,

I am not stuck on it, you brought it up and commented twice,

shows just how judgmental you are,, fatshaming the guy,

the second paragraph is more BS,

who really cares about the 3rd paragraph, once the reader has been blasted with BS in 2 paragraphs, the eyes gloss over and the reader realizes the post is BS from someone with issues,

                              what's next?
