Virginia governor REFUSED Trump's request to send NG to D.C. to help

    The liberal daily mail version.

Virginia governor REFUSED Trump's request to send NG to D.C. to help restore order after request from the White House - which also mulled taking over city's police force
The governor of Virginia refused to send his National Guard troops across the Potomac River into Washington D.C.
Governor Ralph Northam, a Democrat, turned down White House request
'I am not going to send our men and women in uniform of a very proud National Guard to Washington for a photo-op,' Northam said

Lord Northam is too busy dictating mask usage (and not following his own policy) and taking weekends off in OBX to send troops anywhere

Trump can order them -- he's the Commander in Chief, and has the power to federalize the National Guard.

But it was a photo op, and clearly the NG wasn't needed.

you may find this a surprise, but those folks you lovingly refer to as protesters also vandalized some national monuments,

Well then what's the justification for dispatching a high concentration of scarce resources to guard the POTUS's street stroll and photo op?

It's kind of Trump begging for $500 to get to next payday only to discover that he uses the money for scratch-offs.

People asking other people for stuff ought to have their own house in order first. That's as conservative a principle as you will ever meet.

Not sure why you have to ask the Va National Guard to go to DC when you have the Maryland NG close at hand or since it's DC and not a state why not just ask the 2nd Marine Division to come and help out.

Settle down Ray. If you want to refute a post then refute it. Calling it "dumb" is just making schoolyard noise.

One of things I have learned in office politics (where the stakes are lower and hence the fights more bitter) is that getting someone to say "no" is actually the short-term goal sometimes, something to be flung back in their face at a later date.

Not the first time Virginia disagreed with the POTUS.

                      Trump's move.

Ray's reply....Okay, Well if you can't figure it out yourself..let me explain it to you. As he is the president of the United States he's entitled to tight security and as there was a large number of the protesters there that would not leave..His security was important.

So he's entitled to his photo ops. Well he gets the blowback too then that comes with selfish actions. Of course he's had practice dealing with those his whole life. You just can't admit it was a bad call.
