The defunding of Police Depts might have some good points ...

With no police to make arrests, it will usher in another Wild West
environment where the guys with the slow draw will be paying a
visit to Boot Hill. I don't have a SAA but I have a Sheriffs model C&B
with which I'm going to begin practicing for my lightening fast draw.
It will be welcome to not have to look in my rear view mirror every
few seconds for that red light just because I forgot to renew my tags
or my stop lights have stopped working. I can tie my Truck to the
hitch rail outside my favorite saloon without worrying about some
gung ho cop having it towed. All this freedom will add years to my life.
I'm sure you guys can think of many other benefits.

I have questioned that defunding any institution can have results of good and bad. 50 years ago in my home town industry was leaving and with it so did some of the taxes which have continued to this day. Our small fire department got smaller yet fires were still fought. Same for the police department with one exception on equipment. Many police vehicles got long in the tooth and needed replaced. The local Eagle's club stepped in and bought the city new cars, it was advertised on the side of the vehicles!
Many cities are going to cut back and put money where the politicians feel the most votes can be purchased, this is happening in LA. What happens in LA is of no concern to me as I live rural and if it harms them it is on their head.
