Bruce, it is not foolishness, because those who grovel, abase themselves, plead for understanding, like the multitudes of men who "gave the tart what she wanted", & then were accused by her of "unwanted advances," are NEVER forgiven! Quite the reverse, their sh!t-eating apologies merely FUEL the hatred & outrage! Think of the long list of men like O'Reilly, Rather, Lauer; what did their apologies earn them? Further humiliation! I have no sympathy for men like O'Reilly, Rather or Lauer, etc. I question the sincerity of their apologies. About like a convicted criminal seeking to gain a less severe sentence or perhaps set things up for a better result come time for a parole hearing.

One does not apologize in the hope of forgiveness, etc. One apologizes because you realize you were wrong. It is that simple. It is that clear. Whether or not the person(s) you wronged is their decision. You have no control over it. Nor should you. To apologize requires that you recognize your wrong doing and that you admit it, etc. Some men are not capable of bringing themselves to admit wrong doing no matter how extreme. The lamest of such men are the ones who plead that they only did what everyone else was doing. About like those who offer the excuse that they were only doing their job ala Eichmann.

So, to reiterate, apologizing is not a sign of weakness. It requires that a man be sufficiently capable of mastering his own self that he can tell the truth about what he has or has not done and then seek to make right whatever wrong he has done. Sincerely. bruce.

You may be right about the sincerity of their apologies--they were coerced by their radical feminist-cowed employers & all the pressure that hysterical PC-screamers can exert. But why should they be sincere? THEY DID NOTHING WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE! But the point I was making, & you ignored, is what did their self-humiliation earn them?
