Speaking of lapdogs, have you removed your snout from Vern's behind or do you prefer to just snorkel?

A maximum cycle of violence is being played out all right, but the police are standing on the sidelines watching it.

That shouldn't be the case. How 'bout a little wild west? Settle em down. I mean onerous fines.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Locally that was tried, they just ignored the fines. Taking things away like housing, ebt card, medical is the way to go. My clients who had SSDI were warned by me that if jailed for more then 30 days would have their $ suspended and it could take up to 90 days to reinstate, also Section 8 is gone. I also terminated them from the clinic with no guarantee of readmission. It helped to settle some down, the dummies kept on and on. Some are doing hard prison time now, thank goodness!

In most municipalities, At least in my time, failure to appear for a municipal citation, is entered as a no contest plea however if no bond has been posted, a warrant can be issued or their DL suspended which could be inconvenient to the person if stopped at some later time. Like jail until problem settled...

You would have to have the political will to enforce the law -- and that will is lacking these days.

I think we are kind of "swamped" these days. It reached a tipping point where there is too much crime by too many people.

Maybe we should apply the old adage, "Hang a thief when he is young and he will not steal when he is old."

Sounds about right -- use the old English method and coat them with tar so they'll last awhile and give a better message.
