I don't think you watched the video close enough. The cop chasing the black man had a TASER. When the black man FIRED the TASER he had taken from from one of the cops, the cop chasing the black man threw down his TASER and pulled his pistol.

Hmmm . . . is there such a thing as a repeating Taser, one that can fire more than one shot? If the suspect had already fired the taser, then he was unarmed at that time.

If he had gotten the cops gun instead of the taser do you think he would have fired that at them

Basically, if he was running away, then nobody's life was in danger and the shooting was not justified. One would think that two sober police officers could have run down one drunk without using a firearm and in any case, they had his vehicle and presumably could have used it to identify him for later arrest.

What I think MIGHT have happened is irrelevant. The important thing is what DID happen -- if he had already fired that taser, he was no threat.

The cop had had enough. He was tired and he wasn't going to chase the SOB down. I can understand his feeling. It was a big mistake. But it had to be a black guy. What are the odds.

This is just humor. But there is a basis for what happened. BLM vrs. rabid dogs lives matter. BLM is probably only .3 on a 1 to 10 scale. Where as most of us are at zero.
If you run the number differently, well..

So catch me up here. Was the guy in fact shot in the back after firing the taser? Was it a bad shoot? Have not seen bodycam video. I figured, once the guy fired the taser, that is that, justified shooting. Maybe not that simple?

If he would have done as instructed he would be home now. It's his own fault!

Too bad the cop didn't have a PR-24 like we did, never a problem in any fight leading up to an arrest. Biker types were real respectful of a deputy with his PR-24 in his hand!

Every now and then I look in to see if the BS has settled down. Nope.
All the same I feel compelled to comment on the topic in spite of a decent OP degrading into cliquish crap as usual.
Here's my take on the subject.
Man creates a situation where police intervention is warranted.
Man puts himself into a situation that warrants police work.
                        Man resists.
Man believed to be under influence steals police weapon and runs.
Man is now fleeing felon by his own doing.
Police must prevent (a now dangerous to the public at large) person from escaping.
Under "fleeing felon" police are authorized to use lethal force to stop.
Police fire shot at center of mass to stop individual from doing further harm. (Same as we have all been trained to do)
Suspect is stopped but dies in the process.

Appears to me the suspect brought it upon himself.
Most normal people would have thought to realize they are already in enough trouble. Taken into the station for either a DUI or to sleep it off in a cell. Car towed or simply parked off to the side to be retrieved later. Judgment calls on the part of LE....and both scenarios do indeed happen.

This particular suspect wasn't normal. So instead of learning a lesson, or having an 'awwxxxx' expensive day, he made his own funeral.
This individual shouldn't be hailed as a hero, martyr, nor victim. He was just another arrogant dumbass.

                          Hey, JB

No MLB this year! Which means your Cubs are safe from the Brewers.

It means they're both tied with the Cardinals for first place.

Well the guys were charged. The body cams must have shown something that the cell and Wendy's vids did not.

About 4 minutes into this vid, 3 shots. Guy was clearly running away. Given everything that happened before, shooting him seems like a "don't let him get away" decision. Gotta say the cop is on the move and gassed but still a decent shot. One of those times where he'd be better off for missing.
