    Trump’s Police Reform Executive Order

Trump’s Police Reform Executive Order Has 3 Main Components, Senior Administration Officials Say

President Donald Trump’s forthcoming executive order on police reform contains three main components, senior administration officials told the Daily Caller on Monday.

The president is set to sign the order on Tuesday after weeks of consulting with community leaders, law enforcement officials and the families of people killed by police officers, the officials say.

I disagree with #3, Crisis Intervention Team members must go on every call regardless of what the officer is responding to. My clinic did a week long CIT class for area officers to understand what they were involved with and back in 2002 the Municipal Court Judge set up a Mental Health Court just for those types of individuals. Unfortunately the court mainly deals with drug offenders now.
Plus on the positive side many in the mental health field are progressive's, very progressive! Let them have a taste of the real world that the Blue Line faces every minute of every hour of every day!

Once they train the public how to respond within the new police interaction guidelines, what a wonderful world this will be.

I agree 100% with Sam Boggs post and also for the reasons he cites.

I hope the bill includes a prohibition of these no-knock raids that have resulted in the killing of so many innocent people. With bad or malicious evidence supplied to the cops, or their own stupid blundering in going to the wrong address, it could happen to YOU.

It's not a bill. It's not anything, really, has no effect on local police. I doubt anything changes with any of the myriad Federal Law Enforcement agencies either. It's just a nothing press announcement.

they may, but doubt they will win , at least not nationally,

city A may decide to not comply due to the union, but all it will take is hiring a bad cop, and he/she does something stupid, and compliance will suddenly be ok,

besides, references are often checked unofficially too,
as in this applicant is from whateverville, and I know a guy there, let me call him and ask about him

Doesn't address the real issues of the problems. Where are the community leaders and pastors and other men of God? Why aren't community organizers, organizing to help do something for their communities, verses tear it up. Where are the parents teaching their children, what is right and what is wrong. I'm not a bible preaching person but it appears the devil is at work here and we better stand up and notice.

And something liberals reject. They say WE have to care for the irresponsible of the world. The best way to do that, of course, is not to throw money at them, but to make them responsible for themselves.
