A life long Democrat suddenly becomes aware of reality

Just finished a telephone consult with my endocrinologist. She is an attractive and brilliant woman who has always provided me with excellent care for my Type I diabetes. She is also the stereotypical left wing Democrat and apologist. In her view black people can do no wrong.

When the interview was over I asked her if she had been affected in any way by the riots. Her cheerful mood changed instantly and she said, "It was terrifying!" Just half a block from where lives in Philly 4 stores and buildings were set on fire. This was on Walnut Street where all the high fashion stores are located. It was obvious that she was now scared stiff and aware of her own vulnerability. No longer was she chattering about racism and all the tragedies that black people allegedly endure.

Especially the young/inexperienced, the foreigners, the dependents, and those who are just naturally disturbed and violent.

Several years ago I suggested this to her and she just laughed at me. I have an upcoming appointment with her in a few months and I will bring this up again. She is now aware of how easily she could become a victim of rape and God knows what else. So I believe common sense will prevail and she will be receptive to this.

Along this line, last week several black thugs attempted to break into a gun shop in Philly. The owner had his AR 15 and shot one them dead and the others fled. No charges have been filed against him.

Try a simple explanation -- if you have a gun, you don't HAVE to use it. But if you DON'T have a gun, and need one, you can't use it.

Have a brainy child hood friend who refuses to defend family stating that is what the police are there for and why he pay's taxes. Told him about the cops not having to protect him and he argued constantly, "Yes they do!" even after finding out the truth. I asked him lately to no avail, 'Whatch gonna do when they come for you?"

Get a copy of the New York Times or some other big city newspaper, and read all the murder stories to him. "If the police can protect you, why didn't they protect Mary Suggs, or Joe Tentpeg or . . . "
